Julius Caesar once said "Experience is the teacher of all things." When submitting my first teaching applications I always wondered why listing experience was such an important factor. After working in the field for the last few years, I completely understand why experience plays such a big role in applications. Teaching experience is a whole new world compared to learning and studying to be a teacher. With experience I have gained knowledge I would have never learned in a text book or a college course. My experience started when I accepted a position as a long term sub in 3rd  grade at Main Road School in Franklin Township. This 3rd grade position turned into another long term position where I taught 4th grade to finish out the school year.  I was then offered a part-time position teaching grades K-2 Basic Skills for English Language Arts at the Janvier School. The following school year I was offered a full time job, teaching 4th grade English Language Arts. I am currently still teaching ELA at the Main Road School, but now I am teaching in the inclusion setting! Teaching is my passion, I could not think of anything I would rather do. I cannot wait to see where my many more years as an educator take me. Experience is everything!
